ABOUT DEPARTMENT

•        The Department of Mathematics was established in the academic year  2008 with undergraduate course B.Sc.(in the discipline of PCM).

•        In order to provide technical education , B.Sc. course in the discipline of PMCS was started in the academic year 2017.

•        In order to provide higher education in Mathematics postgraduate course M.Sc. in Mathematics was started in the academic year 2018.

•        At present, Our department offered B.Sc. degree course with two combinations (PCM& PMCS ) under UG program and M.Sc.in Mathematics under PG program.

•        The Department initiates two innovative programmes- Infinity Programme and Inspire Mathematics Programme.

VISION OF DEPARTMENT

•        The vision of the department of Mathematics is to generate skilled mathematical mind with all scientific aptitude.

•        To provide an environment where students can learn and use Mathematics as tool in disciplines like Physics, Chemistry, Commerce etc.

MISSION OF DEPARTMENT

•        To nurture mathematical curiosity among the students.

•        To develop scientific temperament  .

•        To develop critical thinking, problem solving skills, content knowledge and the ability to communicate ideas effectively.

•        To provide graduate and post graduate degree with strong skills and knowledge of mathematical science.

•        To provide a supportive environment where students can learn and become expert in mathematics, through dedicated teaching and motivation.

DEPARTMENTALINITIATIONS

1.  INFINITY PROGRAMME

•        INTRODUCTION: In order to motivate and encourage the students, this Programme was initiated by Mathematics Department on  04/04/2022.

•        GOALS:  i) To introduce the students about the careers in the field of Mathematics.

                    ii) To nurture mathematical curiosity among the students.

                    iii) To introduce the applications of topics  which have already learned.

                    iv) To develop habits of studying Mathematics.

•        TARGETEDACTIVITIES: i)Under  this programme we will conduct  weekly motivational lectures on special topics.

                                               ii) We will conduct quiz competition ,project making competition, model making competition.

                                               iii) We will conduct seminar including participation of students.

2.INSPIRE MATHEMATICS PROGRAMME

•  INTRODUCTION: This  programme was initiated from  04 April 2022 in order to provide environment for preparation of  competitive exams in the domain of Mathematics  like CSIR   NET, GATE ,NBHM entrance exams etc.

•                    GOALS:  i) The main goal of this programme is to give concrete information regarding competitive exams in the field of mathematics like CSIR NET (Lectureship & JRF ), GATE, NBHM, CUET etc.

                        ii)  To provide study materials for competitive exams.

•        TARGETEDACTIVITIES: i)Under  this programme we will conduct  lecture on CSIR-NET  Mathematical science.

                                           ii) We will arrange  special lectures by  an Experienced and NET qualified candidates.
